The Story: Qubbat As-Sakhrah is located within the noble sanctuary of Haram Ash-Sharif in Jerusalem. The Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him's miraculous night journey of Isra and Miraj which took place on the 27th of Rajab( the 7th month in the Islamic year). This event marks the night that Allah AWJ took our Noble Prophet PBUH on a journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to Heaven. The first part of the journey is known as Isra.

Following is the translation of the first verse of chapter 17, Al-Israa, from the Holy Quran that refers to the Miraculous journey that our Beloved Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon Him took on the blessed night of Isra and Miraj:

"Holy is He Who carried His servant by night from the Holy Mosque (in Makka) to the farthest Mosque (in Jerusalem)- whose surroundings We have blessed that We might show him some of Our signs. Indeed He alone is All-Hearing, All-Seeing"
