Description: Qubbat As- Sakhrah with Ya Hayyu, Ya Qayyum (O living, O self-sustaining) in Arabic Calligraphy.
The story: One of the most iconic images of the Middle East, Qubbat As-Sakhah is set on the highest point in old Jerusalem. This is one of the earliest surviving buildings from the Islamic world. Whilst painting this, the zikr which came to my heart was Ya Hayyu, Ya Qayyum, Allah (AWJ's) majestic names. Anas bin Malik (RA)said: "Whenever a matter would distress him, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would say 'Oh living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! In Your Mercy do I seek relief (Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum Birahmatika astaghees)."
