The story: Al-Masjid an-Nabawī is a mosque built by the last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) in the city of Medina in the Al Madinah Province of Saudi Arabia. It was the second mosque built by the holy Prophet in Madinah, after Masjid Quba, and is now one of the largest mosques in the world. It is always open, regardless of date or time, and was only closed to visitors in modern times, once, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
